I wanted to create a piece of work that represents what Pride means for me. On the anniversary of the first Pride march in London, I wanted to remind people that it's not all rainbows and that it started as a protest and for me, we still need to keep the protest happening and this is my own protest. In about 18 European countries, same-sex partnerships still lack legal recognition. Additionally, only 11 countries allow for legal gender recognition based on self-determination, a crucial aspect of transgender rights. We are seeing countries actively targeting LGBTQ+ community and bringing in legislation to persecute them. Nigeria, Italy & the US have introduce restrictions and even law targeting the community. We still need to be raising our voice not a glass!
The process of printing stock portraits to deface them by ripping them, punching holes in them. Creating graphic elements by hand to then upload them into photoshop and use to deface the posters.
